Graciosa (literally "graceful" in English) is said to be the most relaxed island of the Azores. The entire island is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. It is called “The White Island” due to the landscape and the names given to certain places like "Pedras Brancas" (White Stones), "Serra Branca" (White Mountain) and "Barro Branco" (White Clay). It is a volcanic island, dominated by a 1.6 Km-wide central caldera located in the southeast and well-worth a trip.
